Plain version: we hold what an order needs and nothing else, we never see your card number, and you can have it all deleted.
Who we are
WEARIT, London, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for everything described here. For anything on this page, write to theitgroupapps@gmail.com.
What we hold, and why
If you order clothes
- Your phone number or email. It is how you sign in — there is no password to lose.
- Your delivery addresses, and a note about where to leave things if you are out.
- Where you are, while the app is open, to show shops near you and your rider on the way. Not in the background, and never when the app is closed.
- Your orders — what you ordered, what you kept, what went back, what you paid.
- Whether you asked for longer at the door. If you tell us you need more time, we hold that so every rider gives it to you without you asking again. You never have to say why.
If you ride
- Your identity documents — photo ID, proof you can work here, insurance. A person checks them. They are kept privately and are never public.
- Where you are while you are on shift, so we can offer you the nearest job and show a customer their rider approaching. Not when you are off shift.
- Your jobs and your pay.
If you run a shop
- The shop’s details and who works there.
- Your products, prices and stock.
- Your orders and what you are owed.
Your card
We never see or store your card number. Payments are handled by Stripe, who hold the card and tell us only the last four digits and whether it worked. When you order, the total is held on your card; when the door closes, only what you kept is taken and the rest is released.
Who else touches it
- Supabase — where the database and files live, in the United Kingdom (London).
- Stripe — payments and payouts.
- Twilio — sends the sign-in code to your phone.
- Apple and Google — the app stores, and the notifications we send you.
- The shop and the rider on your order see what they need to do it: the shop sees the items and the first name; the rider sees the address and the bag.
Nobody buys this data from us, because we do not sell it. There is no advertising in WEARIT.
How long we keep it
- Orders and payments — six years. Tax law requires it.
- Rider documents — while you ride with us, and one year after.
- Where you were — the live position is kept only while it is live; a job’s positions are deleted after 30 days.
- Everything else — until you ask us to delete it.
What you can ask for
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to theitgroupapps@gmail.com and you will hear back within 30 days. Deleting your account is described on its own page.
If you think we have got this wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first.
Children
WEARIT is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly hold anything about a child.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you before it takes effect rather than quietly updating this page.
